About Pregnancy Yoga
I believe Yoga during pregnancy is one of the best things you can do for your body and your baby. Suitable from 13 weeks, Yoga can help to prepare the body for the incremental changes and physical demands of pregnancy, birth and beyond. After the birth, I found becoming a mother unexpectedly physical and the strength and space I had found and built upon through my Yoga practice was more essential than ever. I am now passionate about helping women connect with their bodies in pregnancy in a gentle and open way. Pregnancy Yoga is all about learning to release and relax as well as lengthen and strengthen to reduce the likelihood of - or bring relief from - physical discomfort or pain, which is common through the journey into motherhood.
We will spend time relaxing, settling into the session and tuning in with the breath. This will be followed by a personalised series of movements to help strengthen and release the spine, make space for the baby, and slowly prepare the mind and body for birth, how and wherever it happens on the day. Everyone's body is different and I will be working with your particular needs as your pregnancy progresses, teaching principles of movement which will be helpful beyond the birth and into everyday life with your baby.
Yoga can also be very helpful with the emotional and psychological aspects of pregnancy. One of life's greatest transformations, pregnancy can bring up strong emotions and complex feelings which I found was not often mentioned in the average pregnancy class. While my Yoga sessions focus on physical movements, relaxation, body awareness and the breath, they also create a safe space for women to be with their feelings as they arise, whatever they may be.
Choosing one to one Yoga sessions during pregnancy means personalised support through the journey and Yoga tailored to the particular needs of your body. Sessions can be arranged at your convenience and can take place in the comfort of your own home, or a rented studio space local to you (for the latter an extra cost would apply).
One to One Pregnancy yoga Sessions cost £40.00 for 1.15 hours
Joint sessions can also be arranged for yourself and a
partner / pregnant friend at a cost of £60.00 for 1.15 hours
